‘The Mentalist’ season 7 spoilers: Is a major villain coming for series finale?
When you have a show that’s on for seven years like “The Mentalist,” you do have to assume that the show is going to do everything that it can to try and go out with a bang.
Well, we’ve already got some early scoop that suggests that such a bang is coming very soon for the CBS procedural. According to a brand-new report released via TVLine, the final two episodes are going to revolve around a serial killer known as Lazarus, which is a very interesting name for a killer to have. Why on earth would you take life away from others, and then reference something meant to provide life? Our guess is that maybe this killer is someone who feels more alive when they are killing then when they are doing just about anything else under the sun. It is definitely creepy, but also definitely in line for this show.
There was of course a part of us when we first saw this note that wanted to start going crazy at the suggestion that maybe we are talking here a little bit about a Red John revival, but that would be a little bit too insane. While we love thinking outside the box, there is no way that Patrick Jane left that guy alive. He would have made sure that he was gone long before leaving that scene.
We’re going to have a chance to find out so much more on Jane and company soon, as the final season of “The Mentalist” premieres a week from Sunday on November 30.
