‘Arrow’ season 3 spoilers: More on Thea’s potential new love interest

Thea Queen is going to be getting a little bit of love from someone on “Arrow” season 3 very soon, but don’t expect this new romance in her life to be related to Roy Harper in any way at all.

Rather this upcoming episode teases the arrival of a new character in Chase the DJ, and while he may clash at first with Oliver Queen’s sister, that may change at some point in the somewhat-near future. In explaining a little bit of what you can expect here, check out what executive producer Marc Guggenheim’s latest comments per E! News:

“Austin Butler plays Chase and he has incredible onscreen chemistry with Willa Holland.Expect some sparks to fly between the two of them.”

Ultimately, we do feel like it’s a pretty good thing for Thea to create as much distance from Roy as possible right now, and for it to last a little while. We understand the love for the couple, but after all of the lies, the cheating (which was mostly just to drive her away), and everything else, even with the mirakuru involved, it’s a little crazy to think that Thea would just be ready to dive right back in to that relationship. Roy may be a little more willing, but even he needs to realize ultimately that if he wants a chance someday, he has to give it time to heal.

Ultimately, it’s possible that Roy may find some more romance of his own at some point in the future … that is, if he ever comes back to Team Arrow after some of the events that unfolded in this past episode entitled “Guilty.”
