‘NCIS’ season 12, episode 8 spoilers: An important McGee / Abby scene coming

Over the years that “NCIS” has aired, McGee and Abby have long been a subject of conversation, even if it has not always been at the forefront. Typically, this is a show that puts the case first, and anything that happens with the personal lives of the characters is probably stuck somewhere that only pops up if there is time.

With Sean Murray and Pauley Perrette’s characters, we get the sense that the two are happy with their dating lives these days, especially given all the time that McGee has spent dating Delilah now (even if we haven’t seen Margo Harshman this season). With that being said, what his present feelings for Abby are is something that is going to be addressed on the show this season. According to TVLine, the two characters are going to share an important conversation during Tuesday night’s “Semper Fortis,” though the nature of what is discussed and its long-term impact is not entirely clear.

The issue of McGee’s personal life right now is rather interesting, mostly because we like the Delilah character so much that we’d love to see her back on a near-regular basis. However, what is the point of the relationship if we never see her? We know that you could make the same argument about Bishop and Jake (who is turning up soon), but we don’t have nearly as much invested in her character as we do McGee. He’s been around for so long that we want to see almost every development in his life with someone else.

Hopefully, all of this will be sorted out one way or another by the second half of this season.
