‘Community’ season 6 spoilers: Meet Britta’s parents!
This has to be filed away as some of the best news that we’ve heard all day: Martin Mull is joining “Community,” and he will be doing so with a role that is tied closely to Britta.
According to a new report from Entertainment Weekly, the sitcom great (who is much greater than his recent show “Dads”) is going to be appearing in the sixth season on Yahoo Screen as father to Gillian Jacobs’ oft-crazy character. Meanwhile, we also know now that Lesley Ann Warren, most recently of “In Plain Sight,” it going to be coming up as her mommy dearest.
These castings should make for interesting television, given that we’ve always been somewhat-curious as to who could be playing Britta’s parents and how she grew up to become the “revolutionary” that she is today. While we are not sure we want to see mom or dad for every character on the show (we didn’t really want to meet Jeff’s dad, but that happened in season 4), there could be some good stuff that comes from this.
“Community” is trying to prepare itself for the new season by booking some new faces, and they’ve already signed on Paget Brewster of “Criminal Minds” fame and Keith David, most recently of “Enlisted.” They will both have significant roles, and join longtime regulars Joel McHale, Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Alison Brie, Ken Jeong, and Jim Rash. Yvette Nicole Brown recently exited, but said that she would be willing to return in a guest capacity in the event that a role was offered to her.
What do you think about these roles, and the idea in general of meeting Britta’s parents on “Community” this season? Let us know some of your thoughts to it right now with a comment.
