‘The Newsroom’ season 3, episode 3 preview: Jeff Daniels and a Correspondents’ Dunner kerfuffle
First of all, we just have to say that we’re thrilled to finally be able to put “kerfuffle” into an episode title for “The Newsroom.” Now, we also have a few more details about what is going to be coming up in “Main Justice,” the third installment of the show’s final season.
Based on what we’ve seen so far, the battle over ACN is going to be a big one this season, which means a whole lot more work for Jane Fonda as Leona Lansing. The synopsis below has a few more details about what you can expect from Leona and Reece, and at the same time, also introduces B.J. Novak’s character on the show. One other interesting aspect of this story seems to be Jeff Daniels’ Will potentially being a butt of the joke at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, the one place where almost everyone in the news is attacked:
“Leona and Reece look to raise cash in order to salvage ACN and thwart Blair and Randy. Will gets a surprise at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, while Charlie trades visions with ACN suitor Lucas Pruit (B.J. Novak). Maggie’s EPA scoop makes it to “News Night.” Sloan and Don try to keep their relationship a secret from a new HR veep.”
So why should Sloan and Don have to hide? The only reason we can think of is that their relationship could be used as a conflict of interest to some of the higher-ups, and they would not want Sloan to receive any unfair opportunities.
