‘Royal Pains’ season 7 spoilers: Some key things to remember

There have not been many opportunities as of late to write about USA’s “Royal Pains,” but this is the sort of thing that happens in the off months.

For the time being, though, we’re just happy to know officially that the show is coming back for a seventh and eighth season, and that there is no longer any reason to worry about the future. Even if season 8 becomes the end, you can still smile and know that the show made it just as long as “Monk” and “Psych” did in terms of seasons.

Now, we share a couple more updates courtesy of executive producer Michael Rauch’s Twitter account, starting with the news that the show will start the writing process pretty soon … and with a pretty funny picture to boot:

Meanwhile, Rauch also suggested that filming for the next season starts up in the spring, which makes sense given that the show premieres on USA in the summer. There is no better time for this show to come on the air; it is basically summer in a nutshell, given that it is breezy, fun, and it makes you typically smile at one point or another. Who knew that a show stuffed full of medical emergencies and a doctor recovering from a drug problem could do that?

Obviously, we look forward to finding out the official premiere date, and seeing if there are some notable past stars who want to check in with HankMed for another visit. Also, maybe Jeremiah and Divya will finally get together! We can hope…
