‘The Blacklist’ season 2 spoilers: James Spader, Megan Boone, and fulcrum talk

To us, there’s little question that TV shows loving using the word “fulcrum,” especially in comparison to how much (or how little) people choose to use it in real life. This word was a substitute for a criminal organization in “Chuck,” and it is now the name for a game-changing device of some sort on NBC’s “The Blacklist.”

With all of this being said, the specific purposes for this Fulcrum on the show are not entirely unclear. It mostly stems from some prophecies made by Fitch (Alan Alda) prior to his death on Monday’s fall finale, but regardless of what it really is, the one thing that you can be assured of for now is that there are quite a few people who want it.

According to a new report from Entertainment Weekly, an upcoming episode of the series is going to featuring Reddington (James Spader) doing just about everything that he can in order to acquire the device, but at the same time facing some significant obstacles along the way. A Blacklister is also going to be doing everything in their power to grab it.

So what could slow Red down? Trying to save Liz (Megan Boone), who is going to be in need of his help in a big way this episode. Let’s just say that Red may be forced into making some sacrifices to test his loyalty / devotion / whatever you want to call it to his partner in so many cases.
