‘Reign’ season 2, episode 7 preview: The return of Claude and its ramifications

Thursday night, “Reign” season 2 will be back with a new episode, and one that will see quite a shake-up when it comes to the court. What else would you expect from the arrival of Princess Claude to the scene?

In the video below, you can see series executive producer Laurie McCarthy alongside producer Wendy Riss Gatsiounis and story editor Drew Lindo (the two writers of this episode), and they go through the many different dynamics that come with Catherine’s daughter being back in the fold. One great thing that Claude brings to the table is that she forces these characters into interesting roles. Particularly, it will be interesting to see Francis in “protective brother” mode, and Catherine extremely frantic as she tries to figure out how to handle someone who could be a little bit of a wild child.

While we are almost certain that there will be some drama thrown into this hour when it comes to series matters, what we like about the Claude character coming now is she brings a little bit of fun. “Reign” needs that from time to time, especially when Mary has been forced to deal with so many terrible things from the plague onward. While she is not mentioned in the video, we’re sure that Claude will make some sort of impact on her, as well.

The last thing we could tell you, if you are a major “Reign” fan, is to be sure and watch the episode live. This series right now could use a little boost in the ratings, and may otherwise be in some danger at the end of the season.
