‘The X Factor’ notes: Stevi Ritchie, Chloe Jasmine, Fifth Harmony, One Direction, and Mel B

Stevi Ritchie -Are Chloe and Stevi really together? – We begin this edition of “The X Factor” UK notes with the latest update on what has to be one of the most surprising romances we’ve seen in a while between Stevi Ritchie and Chloe Jasmine.

There is some “confirmation” now that these two are an item, and it comes via a quote that eliminated contestant Stephanie Nala allegedly gave in an interview recently to Reveal magazine on the subject:

“Stevi and Chloe are officially a thing. He’s doubting her feelings for him but she’s asked me to be maid of honour if they marry.”

We’ll wait until either Stevi or Chloe talk about this publicly before it is completely official, but if these two are genuinely together, congrats to them! Also, it is definitely not what we saw coming going into this season.

Mel B vs. Louis Walsh – As you would expect, the Spice Girl is not thrilled about her fellow judge opting to bring the tie vote to deadlock on this past results show, which led to her act Paul Akister being sent home from the competition.

Speaking on this subject in a new interview with The Sun, Mel commented with the following:

“Paul won the sing-off hands down. I said to Louis, ‘I am so angry at you, come on, don’t wimp out.’ He told me to shut up. I won’t tell you what I said after that.”

The thing that we don’t like about this and many other comments at the moment is that they really seem to be treating Jay James as chopped liver, when he is a very good performer! While he’s probably not a better singer than Paul, we felt something more when he sang.

One Direction announcement – The boy band is coming to NBC! While there are not many details available yet, the boys will have a holiday special that airs at some point in December. Other acts to get this honor from the network include Michael Buble and Blake Shelton.

Fifth Harmony’s new performance – Finally, watch the girl group from the American version of the show perform “Sledgehammer” on “Good Morning America” today in the video below. They’ll be on the UK results show next month for a performance.
