‘Gotham’ episode 9 preview: Nicholas D’Agosto’s Harvey Dent arrives on the scene

In the world of “Gotham,” there sure are a good many villains who are significantly older than Bruce Wayne. We’ve already met a grown-up Riddler, and next week, “Harvey Dent” is going to bring into the fold the show’s version of a man who will someday become Two-Face.

This character is going to be played by former “Masters of Sex” star Nicholas D’Agosto, and hopefully Harvey will have better luck than Ethan did with Virginia Johnson. (That’s the end of the Showtime-related humor, promise.) The official synopsis of what to expect can be found below:

“Trying to close the Wayne murder case, a young Harvey Dent (guest star Nicholas D’ Agosto) and Gordon team up, much to Mayor James’ (guest star Richard Kind) chagrin. Meanwhile, Penguin makes contact with Mooney’s (Jada Pinkett Smith) secret weapon, Liza (guest star Mackenzie Leigh).”

It is nice to see the Wayne murders once again becoming the focal point of this story, if for no other reason than that it feels basically like it has been forever since they were put in such a role.

While we know that Scarecrow is supposedly coming on the show very soon, we do hope that they take their time introducing some other characters. After all, it becomes a little bit of a stretch if every single great Batman villain is even in Gotham so many years before the Dark Knight rises. We’ll stop ourselves from making any jokes about that movie now.

What do you want to see on “Harvey Dent” the episode, and from Harvey Dent the character? Let us know both ways with a comment.
