‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 16 spoilers: Mariska Hargitay, Sophia Bush on ‘Chicago PD’ crossover

Is there a lot to look forward to from the upcoming “Law & Order: SVU” / “Chicago PD” crossover? It is definitely easy to say that and then some.

More so than the case, which we are sure will have the same sort of intensity and drama that you would expect from the show, one of the things that you really should be worried about right now is what happens when some of these characters clash. That produces what is arguably our favorite moment of the entire sneak-peek video below (via TVLine), where Benson threatens to arrest Voight over some of his morally-questionable techniques as a cop. Finally, someone puts this guy in his place! It’s been a long time coming, hasn’t it?

The video also features quotes from Mariska Hargitay, Sophia Bush, and many other stars of the series. Not only that, but it does a pretty strong job of really showing how this entire crossover comes about, and the role of the group from “Chicago Fire.” Admittedly, these are the folks we’ve been the most confused about for a little while when it comes to their purpose. So far, we’ve really just questioned how involved they could be, but a box retrieved from the scene of a fire may be what really sets this entire chain of events in motion.

Let’s hope that this is yet another ratings boom for all three shows in the process. While none of them are in danger of cancellation right now, anything to keep those numbers solid is something that we will smile about and endorse.
