‘Community’ season 6 spoilers: ‘Criminal Minds’ alum Paget Brewster becomes regular
While “Community” had some major questions ahead for its sixth season, it has now cleared up one of them: Who is going to replace the departed Yvette Nicole Brown, and make up for the loss of Jonathan Banks and John Oliver.
Let’s begin here with Paget Brewster. The “Criminal Minds” alum was already on the show in season 5 as IT specialist Debra Chambers, but according to TV Guide, she is going to be playing a very different character this time around in Francesca “Frankie” Dart, a consultant who is brought in to try and turn around the fate of the long-suffering community college.
Meanwhile, the same report claims that Keith David, who was most recently a part of another brilliant show in “Enlisted,” is going to play a retired scientist named Elroy Patashnik, who has come to the school for a new lease on life. If he’s coming to Greendale, you better believe that things were not going too well for him the first time around. What is interesting here is that he previously narrated the show’s episode “Pillows and Blankets.”
Typically, we would not be a fan of the show choosing to bring in actors that they’ve used before in other capacities, but the great thing about “Community” is that we know that they will make these returns all meta, and in the show’s signature tone.
There is no official word yet on when you will be able to start streaming the sixth season, but our guess is that it will be online at some point early next year. Stay tuned, since we will have some further news as it comes out.
