‘Once Upon a Time’ season 4, episode 7 review: What did the Snow Queen whisper to Rumpelstiltskin?

Mitchell -Tonight’s new episode of “Once Upon a Time” was entitled the Snow Queen, but for some in Storybrooke, things were starting to get a little hot and heavy! This included Robin Hood, who basically decided that he wanted to make a few moves on Regina while still technically married to Maid Marian.

In the end, though, this episode was mostly dominated by Elizabeth Mitchell. Her performance as Ingrid was definitely powerful, and by the end of the episode, we genuinely felt sorry for the character. Basically, what happened to her was a million times worse of what happened to Elsa in “Frozen.” She killed her own sister! It was an accident trying to protect her from the Duke (remember him from the movie?), but it caused her to be wiped almost entirely from the Arendelle history books.

At the end of the episode, we saw that Ingrid still had a few more plays when it comes to Rumpelstiltskin. She figured out what some of his endgame is, and that is to venture beyond Storybrooke, and have control of so much more of the world than just a tiny town.

What does she ask of him? The mysterious part of this episode, after watching her entire sad story from the past play out, is trying to figure out what she whispered to Rumple. Our guess? It’s a power deal, or a way to ensure that he gets involved in what is happening with Emma Swan. At the moment, she is both an enigma and a threat. Her powers are out of control, and that makes her a danger for all. Grade: B.
