‘The Newsroom’ season 3 video: Take a look at John Gallagher Jr. – Jim highlights

Tomorrow night marks the season premiere of “The Newsroom,” but before we come to that, we have one more character-highlight video to show off.

This time around, we are talking about a man in Jim Harper, played by John Gallagher Jr., who has at times been the voice of reason among the “News Night” staff. Then again, there are also times when he desperately tries to get what he wants even to his own company’s detriment. Take, for example, when he tried to siege a coup on the Mitt Romney campaign bus.

Jim is going to see his story start off in a particularly unusual place when the show premieres Sunday, given that he is going to be stabilized in his job, but still facing some relationship uncertainty. He is dating Hallie, who has found a more permanent job with ACN working as a social-media expert. However, at the same time there is a huge contingent of people out there who want to see him with Maggie … and that probably also includes some within the newsroom itself.

Hopefully, we’re going to have much more in the way of information in the first few episodes regarding where Jim is going to end up. For example, if he is with Maggie during the series finale, we don’t want it to happen just because everyone wants it to, and the entire moment feels very much rushed and tacked-on just for the purpose of giving the story a “moment” or a little bit of attention.
