‘Longmire’ season 4 notes: New Robert Taylor video; the next stampede
It’s been a few days now since we’ve had anything to say on “Longmire’s” season 4 hopes, and once again there is nothing 100% official yet. If there are talks about studio Warner Horizon and a network, they are keeping them extremely quiet.
If nothing else, though, there is still optimism! Series star Robert Taylor, who plays the sheriff himself in Walt Longmire, suggests in the video below (posted by his co-star Adam Bartley) that “things are getting real close.” This may not be confirmation of anything, but we have a hard time believing that there would be such hope if all parties involved thought that these campaigns were going nowhere. There is a reason to be hopeful for something else ahead for the series, and we just have to wait to find out what this something could be.
Remember, though, that the cast still has at least a few months under contract, so there is no need to rush an announcement. That’s probably one of the reasons why patience has been so important to the campaign so far.
Next stampede – For all of those who participate in this weekly social-media tradition, it has locked in seemingly to a specific time now: Mondays at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time, or 6:00 p.m. for those of you on the West Coast.
There’s also a specific hashtag to use to support the show in #NeedLongmire, but be sure not to use it on Twitter until the start time of the stampede. In order to get it trending, part of the challenge is making sure that the trend comes out of nowhere. Some of these stampedes have already been effective in generating some attention, so hopefully this will continue as we get closer to the holiday season.
If nothing else, we haven’t seen a show use this sort of grassroots campaigning week in and week out on Twitter quite possibly ever. There have been other campaigns, but rarely are they ever this organized. (Donna reminded us on Twitter of one notable exception, the “Chuck” #NotANeilsenFamily campaign that praised advertisers. Also, this reminded us of how much we miss “Chuck.”)

Thanks for the article. As one of the loyal ‘Longmire’ Posse I know that the best we can do is to keep Longmire trending on Twitter and Facebook. We post on Facebook and keep ourselves fired up. A&E never thought that there would be this much hulabaloo made over 1 cancelled show. We have proven that we are a committed and will do everything we can to save the show.
