‘Elementary’ season 3, episode 3 preview: Rich Sommer returns; Joan learns about Kitty
Where are we going to see the story on “Elementary” go from here? The next new episode is going to carry with it the title of “Just a Regular Irregular,” and this is going to feature the return of many of Sherlock Holmes’ math titans. This group, which includes “Mad Men” star Rich Sommer, is going to be of great use to him. After all, Sherlock cannot do everything by himself, can he?
If you want to see some more news about the storyline as a whole, take a look at the episode’s official synopsis below:
“Sherlock helps a math genius from his network of “Irregulars” experts after he stumbles upon a body while participating in a math puzzle competition. Meanwhile, Joan attempts to extend an olive branch after she learns about Kitty’s past.”
Just in case you are wondering, this is an episode that also features a cameo from Phil Simms. This is what we ultimately like to consider a nice case of irony: A chance to have a cameo from a guy whose football coverage on CBS is one of the reasons why this season started so late in the first place.
Save for all of this, though, this seems like a fairly ordinary episode … save for seeing some more Kitty Winter. To be quite honest, we are mostly just surprised that the character is still a part of this universe this many episodes in. We were certain she’d be gone.
