‘The X Factor’ UK notes: Jack Walton, Mel B, Louis Tomlinson, Stevi Ritchie, and Chloe Jasmine
There is all sorts of crazy stuff happening with “The X Factor” UK right now, and let’s begin with Jack Walton subtly throwing his mentor Mel B under the bus following his elimination, suggesting almost that she never connected with him on the same level that she did some of her other acts.
Speaking (per the Mirror) after his exit, Jack claimed that One Direction member Louis Tomlinson was almost a better mentor for him than the Spice Girl was, and he didn’t like the songs or direction she was giving to him:
“I didn’t really like the song choices … Louis really believed in me though, he wanted me to do my own style. That’s what I wanted to do, and I should have stuck to that.
“I’ve got massive support from him, he’s been a massive help throughout the competition telling me what I should sing. I wish I had listened to him a little bit more. He’s been so involved. I trusted his judgment more than Mel B.”
Here is our bit of advice right now for Jack: If you want to do your own songs, go do that at shows. The reality here is that “The X Factor” constantly makes you do what you don’t want, and this is just a part of the show’s DNA. You have to be prepared for some frustrating moments.
Stevi Ritchie rumors – We don’t know what to make of this, but The Sun claims that Chloe Jasmine and her boyfriend Craig Wiffen may be through, and it is due in part to the story that aired on this weekend’s show about Stevi! Scandalous, no? There are some other details in here about how much time the show’s underdog allegedly spent with Chloe, but we’re not going to really dive into that.
What we will say, though, is that it has to be awkward being the boyfriend in this situation, given that most of Britain is rooting for a guy like Stevi to be happy. Clearly, he is pretty sensitive based on the reaction he had to the Chloe news on the show.
