‘The X Factor’ UK results: Was Paul Akister, Stereo Kicks, or Lola Saunders eliminated?
Tonight, we had yet another bout of “X Factor” results that could be polarizing, or could be expected. Who knows what the voters and the judges are going to do on the night?
Going into the show, though, the early consensus was that Lola Saunders could be in trouble, given that she performed early, and while she was decent, she could have gotten lost in the shuffle. That’s also why we were slightly worried for Ben Haenow. We would say that Stereo Kicks were in danger, but were probably saved by going so late in the show. Meanwhile, Fleur East was memorable thanks to a good song choice.
One “shock boot” that we were personally worried about was Jay James, who was very good, but didn’t really have a “moment” like he did a couple of weeks ago.
After some performances by John Legend (amazing) and resident judge Cheryl (not bad, given all the dancing), we then came to the decision. Stereo Kicks and Lola were unsurprisingly the bottom two, which makes some sense given that neither were that great.
Here’s our quick take on the sing-off.
Lola, “Natural Woman” – This was amazing. Basically, it was a “Mortal Kombat” finishing move that the guys probably were not even going to touch.
Stereo Kicks, “Perfect” – Their best vocal, as well. Good rapping! The problem is that Lola was actually better as a whole.
The vote ended up being a tie, which meant that there was a deadlock vote, and the public deciding to send home … Lola. We’re bummed! At least she got to come back and give her all for a long time in the season.
