‘Saturday Night Live’: Woody Harrelson to host, Kendrick Lamar to perform November 15
Tonight, “Saturday Night Live” aired an episode that featured the return of Chris Rock as a host, which was certainly a cause for celebration. It really continued a great tradition of people with great comedy talents coming on board the show.
So who is going to be next on the roster for the show? Well, tonight it was announced that Woody Harrelson is next! The NBC show announced tonight that the “True Detective” star is going to return to the show on November 15, though it has been quite a while since he was last on. His career has spiked in recent years, at least someone doesn’t talk about that terrible AMA he did on Reddit recently about “Rampart.”
As for the musical guest, it is someone in Kendrick Lamar who was on fairly recently, back when Adam Levine was the host and not the musical guest. What is important here is that it does give the show a little more of a hip-hop presence, which it does need for the sake of diversity. While we had Iggy Azalea last week, by and large the show tends to avoid hip-hop and country music, while giving a variety of rock / pop stars a platform, including many that you have not even heard about.
Now, the only real question that we have for this upcoming show is whether or not Harrelson is really going to get the show any more viewers. While he was great on the HBO show, he is not necessarily an enormous draw.
