‘Once Upon a Time’ season 4 spoilers: Will Rose McIver return as Tinker Bell?

Throughout the first few episodes of “Once Upon a Time,” we have had quite the opportunity to get to know new characters like Anna, Elsa, and the Snow Queen within the scope of the show’s universe. However, these guest appearances do come at the expense of some other recurring characters.

With someone like Rose McIver, it is even more difficult. Not only is the actress behind Tinker Bell limited when it comes to story on this time available for her story, but Rose herself only has so much time in her schedule. As co-creator Edward Kitsis notes in a new Entertainment Weekly piece, her work on the upcoming CW show “iZombie,” makes it very hard to find a good place for the character on the series … even if both shows film in Vancouver:

“She is the lead of her own show, in which she’s in every scene. So although she is in the same city that we shoot, it’s very hard for her to have free time, but as soon as she does, we’ll put her back in her green outfit.”

As for some other recurring characters, Aurora’s return has been confirmed, but the jury is still out on Red, Philip, and Mulan. Julian Morris is going to be very busy, and that may limit his work … but it’s hard to imagine much of Sleepy Beauty without the father of her child around.

Hopefully, we’ll hear some more news on some of these old favorites when we get closer to the new year, which is when the show thaws out of this “Frozen” storyline.
