ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 7 spoilers: ‘Kill Switch’ hints for Nathan Fillion, Stana Katic, cast

Over the past few weeks, the episode order for “Castle” this fall has started to become clear. For example, the next episode a week from Monday is “Time of Our Lives,” which is widely expected to be the installment where Castle and Beckett finally marry each other. Then, episode 7×07, entitled “Once Upon a Time in the West,” is the honeymoon story.

The ninth episode is going to be about the murder of a washed-up action star, while the tenth episode will be holiday-themed. In the end, the eighth episode “Kill Switch” has been given the shaft somewhat when it comes to specific plot spoilers … at least until now.

According to a report from TVLine, this episode is going to revolve at first around a “routine investigation,” but one that gets out of hand and escalates extremely quickly as a gunman takes hostages aboard a subway character. One of the members of the precinct may also be involved, and not in a way that is conducive to their safety.

In many ways, this feels like a showcase for one of the other cast members even more so than Nathan Fillion or Stana Katic, which would make some sense given the timing. Both “Time of Our Lives” and “Once Upon a Time in the West” are each going to be enormous Castle – Beckett episodes, so you want to give your other cast members some great material, as well. While Ryan had some funny moments Monday, we’d argue that he could use a big story very soon. We’ve already heard that the holiday episode will have some Lanie / Esposito moments, so they may be waiting until then to showcase most of these two characters.
