‘Shark Tank’ preview: SingTrix, Titin, Myself Belts, BeardBrand, and a Grace & Lace update
With that being said, the sharks in this episode are going to be Mark Cuban, Kevin O’Leary, Robert Herjavec, Daymond John, and Lori Greiner. Before anything else, take a look at the attached synopsis for specifics:
“A man from Cumming, Georgia promotes unique exercise clothing that provides hyper-gravity weight training; a Spokane, Washington entrepreneur has a product to appeal to today’s ‘urban beardsman’ with beard oils, mustache waxes and a community for facial hair aficionados; two New Yorkers have a karaoke machine that adds jaw-dropping vocal harmonies to help users sound like their favorite stars; belts that are easy for kids to use from a St. Louis, Missouri woman; and a follow up story on Barbara Corcoran’s deal from last season, Grace & Lace, hand-knitted socks and legwarmers.”
Now, let’s give you our first impression on some of the products.
BeardBrand – Call us crazy, but we actually like this a whole lot! While we have a very hard time growing a beard personally (mostly because we can’t stand the itch), there is a movement out there for intentional bears right now. The only tricky part of this is whether or not there are enough customers, or if a good percentage of the bearded men do it out of laziness.
Myself Belts – This is one of those products that we suppose a market exists for, but we have no clue what said market really is. We don’t remember ever having a problem with getting a belt on as a child; we see the value of these mostly as colorful accessories to make your kid stand out.
SingTrix – We cannot decide if this innovation, which almost acts like auto-tune on steroids to make any karaoke into a pleasurable listening experience, is really awesome, or a total way to cheat if you are a bad singer. We wouldn’t pay the $350 that is the current asking price, but we’d be interest for around $100. It seems like a great thing to have on-site for a party.
Titin – We’re not the target audience for this at all, given that we are the furthest thing from a gym rat. We cannot tell you whether or not this weighted fitness equipment works to give you a better workout or not. The only thing that makes us wonder here is that this business has been around for a few years, so we’re curious what their story is going to be on the show.
