‘Survivor: San Juan del Sur’ preview: The merge happens, and we speculate on the future
You knew that it was coming sooner or later, and next week, the moment is finally here: The merge on “Survivor: San Juan del Sur.” Let’s just be glad that it is happening right now, since maybe it is going to in part save the show from itself at the moment. This season is not exactly firing on all cylinders.
So what is going to come alongside the merge? A variety of different things probably, but what is interesting right now are the sheer number of pairs still in the game. You have Julie, Natalie, Alec, and Jeremy, and then everyone else still has a love one. Maybe that was one of the motivations for Jon and Jaclyn to keep so many of the pairs in the game rather than separate Missi and Baylor, while making another enemy in whoever is left.
Now, you’ve got four sets of pairs, and then some people who could be picked off. What may really shape the rest of the game moving forward is who decides to take the remaining players left in the game, and try to use them in order to make some big moves.
As of right now, though, the pairs of Jon / Jaclyn and Missi / Baylor may be in the best position, mostly because of their external allies. Meanwhile, Josh / Reed, Wes / Keith, and Alec should all be feeling at least a little bit worried at this particular moment. We’ll have to see what shakes up the rest of the way.
