‘American Idol XIV’ spoilers: Jennifer Lopez, judges hype up talent

Hollywood Week is underway for “American Idol XIV” already, and the judges are of course in the process of talking all about it.

With that being said, let is be known that these people are not above using as much hyperbole as humanly possible in order to get some of their points across. Speaking to “Access Hollywood,” for example (see the video below), you can see show judge Jennifer Lopez really hype up the quality of the talent on the show this year.

Are we really that enthused by anything that these people are saying at the moment? In all honesty, it is really hard to be when you consider the track record that is present here. There have been a multitude of acts who have auditioned for the Fox show and looked very good at first, only to fall apart later. Also, the judges obviously want people to watch the show.

At this point, the show is going to have to convince us that they have found someone great through their casting process, and it cannot just be somebody that we can relate to with a good voice. They need to actually know that they are a star, and perform every week like they are a superstar at a concert.

If they do this, at least we’ll know that there are people once again with a chance at succeeding after the show, even if we’re not sure voters will embrace a contestant like this in the modern age of sensitivity. The odds are high that they’ll be looked at as “cocky,” even though there’s a difference between this and confidence.
