‘White Collar,’ ‘One Tree Hill’ alum Hilarie Burton scores ‘Forever’ gig

“Forever” may not be getting the ratings right now to be considered everlasting on ABC, but they do have something else at the moment that they should be rather proud of: Getting Hilarie Burton to have a guest-starring role on the show.

Per a new report from Entertainment Weekly, Burton, best known for her roles on “One Tree Hill” and “White Collar,” is going to place a pretty surprising role here. Specifically, she’ll be Iona Payne, a dominatrix who ends up at the center of a murder investigation. Why is that? One of her clients is found dead.

Payne will end up falling for our lead Henry during the investigation, and who knows? Maybe the two will have a relationship that will last … but probably not for that long, given the whole immortal thing is something at the center of the show.

Burton also recently had a memorable guest spot on “Grey’s Anatomy,” but the sad news here is that there’s not anything further to report right now on her status on the final “White Collar” season. While many want to see her turn up as Neal Caffrey’s great love Sara, there is not any indication that she will actually turn up. If she does, it is clearly meant to be some big surprise.

“Forever” airs new episodes on Tuesday nights, at least for the time being. Its ratings are not really being supported by the rest of ABC’s lineup; ‘Agents of SHIELD’ is struggling, and “Manhattan Love Story” was already canceled last week.

Like Burton’s casting? Wish that she’d show up again on “White Collar” in the future? Let us know in the comments.
