‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 16, episode 6: New script tease of Mariska Hargitay scene

Law & Order: SVU logoWe have to start out this “Law & Order: SVU” season 16 article with the following: You’re going to be waiting for a little while to see the next new episode air. “Glasgowman’s Wrath” is not a story coming up on NBC until a week from Wednesday, as the network is taking a little bit of time off this week. Plus, this saves more episodes for sweeps periods!

The script tease HERE, which was posted by executive producer Warren Leight, at least gives you a sense of some of the story. Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and Carisi (Peter Scanavino) are at the center of the case, which is going to have some legitimately spooky notes to it. It feels almost like this episode was written to be a Halloween-themed story, but was pushed back the following week for whatever reason.

Still, there is no reason to be anything other than excited to see what comes up next for the show. “SVU” has been on a pretty incredible run of gripping episodes so far this season, even if some of them (including the one from this past week about a certain adult industry) were particularly sad. Whether you are talking about Hargitay or some of the guest stars, the acting has also been solid.

That’s the interesting thing about “SVU”: So long as there is fresh writing and modern social issues being addressed, there is always going to be life in this show. That’s why it is still standing 16 years later, while many other hit franchises afraid to keep up with the times have come and gone.
