‘Faking It’ season 2, episode 6 preview: Fifth Harmony appears; Karma and Liam
“Faking It” has manages to scatter through quite a few notable cameos this season, haven’t they? Earlier on, we had a guest appearance from none other than Laverne Cox of “Orange is the New Black” fame. Now, going into Tuesday night’s new episode, we are going to see none other than former “X Factor” group / pop stars Fifth Harmony turn up as (you guessed it!) a girl band.
The idea of this episode seems to differ depending on who you are talking about. For Karma, much of her joy about being with Liam Booker after so much time is at least partially subdued by the fact that he hesitates at calling her his “girlfriend.” So why is that? We see it mostly as a combination of him being afraid of commitment, and maybe still guilty about the secret that has to yet to be told. At this given point, we are starting to wonder whether or not it will come out at all before the finale, and then it will serve as cliffhanger.
Meanwhile, the other story features Amy trying to, with the help of Shane, moving forward and be happy. Sooner or later, you knew that she would have to move on, and this is her latest attempt to do so. The thing you have to remember here if you ship Karma / Amy is that this relationship is not going to change overnight. For Karma to realize that she has actual feelings (if she does), she may need a few triggers. One of them could just be seeing her best friend dating someone else. We did see that briefly when she got a kiss a little earlier this season when the Brazilian students stopped by.
We’re sure that Lauren and some other characters will have a role on the show as well in this episode, but that’s not clear at the moment in the promo.
