‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’ episode 4 preview: Who will Edward Mordrake take?

“American Horror Story: Freak Show” spent a good bit of time Wednesday night introducing us to the Edward Mordrake character, but we know already at this given moment that this story is far from over.

In the promo below, you can see a major crisis stemming from the arrival of this ghostly man, as he has to take at least one person with him to join his spiritual army. He’s already decided that it is not time for Ethel to leave, which we figure is due to the fact that even he was moved by Kathy Bates’ incredible performance in the role.

So who do we feel are the most-likely candidates right now to be taken away? We’d say that in the #1 position at the moment is probably a tie between some of the background freak-show characters, mostly because there are not too many of them that have prominent speaking roles on the show and it seems a little early to get rid of one of the regulars. With that being said, maybe Dandy is a dark horse given that he feels that he is a “freak on the inside,” and clearly no one other than maybe Twisty would be that sad that he is gone.

Seemingly, this big Halloween episode will wrap up the Mordrake story, and the show will move onward on to some other topics for at least a little while … which we hope are a little more grounded in reality. This show doesn’t need to be supernatural all the time!
