‘The Originals’ season 2 spoilers: Notable ‘scandal’ alum set to watch over werewolves
The world of “The Originals” just keeps getting more and more complicated, and we’re excited to report something very rare for any CW series: A character who is actually older than the standard 18-49 demographic that the network uses to judge its ratings!
According to a new report from TVLine, Debra Mooney, who appeared on “Everwood” and had a very memorable part as Supreme Court Judge Verna Thornton on “Scandal” in the past, will recur starting in the 11th episode of the season as Mary. She is a tough, extremely-protective matriarch to the family of werewolves in New Orleans, and will do just about anything and everything to protect those in her pack.
Could she be a potential threat to Klaus? We certainly hope so, given that we personally believe that this show is a million or so times better when Joseph Morgan’s character has as many adversaries as humanly possible. In addition to that, maybe she could also clash with characters like Elijah (Daniel Gillies), Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), or even potentially the latest werewolf-turned-hybrid in Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin).
Whatever she is up to, it is going to be quite a while until we see her in action. As a matter of fact, we are going to be enormously surprised if this “The Originals” even comes on the air at all in 2014. It seems better suited to estimate it for an late January or early February air date, at least based on a little bit of the information that we have on the subject.
