‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 11 spoilers: Kelly McCreary now series regular
Well, here is some news that you probably saw coming for a little while now: You’re going to be seeing a whole lot more of Kelly McCreary on “Grey’s Anatomy” season 11.
ABC has confirmed now that the actress, who plays Meredith’s surprise half-sister Maggie on the series, is going to be a series regular at least for the rest of the year. This comes as no great shock given that she was practically a main character through most of the first four episodes of this season, as we started to grow accustomed to her at the Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital, and as the truth started to come out about her character.
We do imagine that this move will have a little bit of controversy attached to it, if for no other reason that that not everyone has been a particularly enormous fan of her in action. She’s been somewhat of a lone wolf, and given all of her conflict with Meredith (who we’ve known for over a decade now), it’s been frustrating that she has dominated the airtime over many other people we’ve been interested in.
Still, we do have hope for the Maggie character in the future, now that it is pretty clear that she is not going to be going anywhere at least for the next twenty or so episodes. Tonight could actually be the first time where she is not front and center for every part of the story, with the major reason for that being mostly that this is more of a Callie / Arizona story coming up in “Bend & Break.”
