‘Sleepy Hollow’ season 2 spoilers: ‘Gossip Girl’ alum set for history-making role
We know that “Sleepy Hollow” loves to put a twist on famous historical figures, and based on what we’re hearing right now, you can expect that to be the same thing here when it comes to Abigail Adams.
According to a report from TVLine, former “Gossip Girl” and “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” star Michelle Trachtenberg has been cast in the role of the former First Lady, who will have not been in that position yet based on where Ichabod Crane is in the past. Instead, we are going to see her have an interesting connection to Katrina Crane, and of course play a huge role in the story during flashbacks.
Historically, Abigail’s impact goes far beyond this. She was one of the first real pioneers for women in American history, and she also is the mother of future President John Quincy Adams. Until the Presidency of George W. Bush, he was the only descendant of a President to be victorious in an election for America’s highest office.
Trachtenberg’s episode will air a little later this season, but we have to go ahead right now and give some massive applause to the producers for knowing their audience, and knowing that getting the actress on board the show would please many of them. We have a feeling that many of the same people who loved “Buffy” probably love this … and they really should, given how fantastic the show is.
We’re also thrilled that the ratings for the series are also starting to level off, which gives it even more hope now for the future.
