‘The X Factor’ UK spoilers: Stereo Kicks may lose two members
There’s some big and potentially sad “X Factor” UK news out there, at least if you are a fan somehow of all eight members of the band Stereo Kicks.
Per new reports from The Sun and other tabloids, the eight-piece boy band is set to lose two members, following some heavy concerns that there are too many singers in the group, and it is a little difficult to have an audience form a connection to anyone individually. Even Louis Walsh is struggling with being connected to the group, given that it was originally Simon Cowell and nothim who thought it was going to be a good idea to put all of them together.
While we do for the most part acknowledge Simon as a musical genius, we also have to add this: There is a reason why there has not been an eight-piece boy band in the mainstream, and as a matter of fact, we’d argue that there’s a reason why there hasn’t been a six-piece one, either. Typically, boy and girl bands max out at five members, and for the most part, we actually prefer four.
At this point, it feels like the damage is done, and that Louis’ group is basically screwed. It’s going to be hard for anyone to really latch onto the band at this point, given that cutting members now will look incredibly desperate. Still, it makes sense that you try to do something after being in the bottom two so early in the competition. This would leave Louis with Only the Young, and there is no guarantee that they’d be good enough to make it extremely deep in the competition.
