‘The Newsroom’ season 3 spoilers: ‘Office’ alum B.J. Novak scores powerful role
There are many reasons to love HBO, but for many, one of the biggest ones may just be their tendency to give you a lot of scoop all at one time.
That is what the network did on Monday, when they announced a whole score of details about the third and final season of “The Newsroom.” Today, what we’re going to bring you in particular pertains to a notable casting of someone you probably know pretty well already in B.J. Novak. The former star of “The Office,” who also serves as one of the top creative forces on “The Mindy Project,” will appear in the third episode of the season entitled “Main Justice.”
As for his character, Novak will play Lucas Pruit, a powerful suitor hoping to take over ACN, and he will specifically spend some time with Charlie talking about what his vision for the network would be.
Don’t necessarily take this news as some sort of confirmation that we are going to see a dramatic takeover for the network, but you have to consider it possible. After all, have Leona and Reese Lansing really done such a bang-up job running this network that they have made themselves immune to such conversation? Given how Reese in particular got himself involved in a phone-hacking scandal, this is something that you have to consider.
The final season will premiere on Sunday, November 9, and this is far from the last story we’re going to be sharing on “The Newsroom” in the coming days. Stay tuned, since we’ll have more on guest cast, themes, surprises, and much more. Also, share your thoughts on this casting with a comment.
