‘The X Factor’ UK notes: Chloe Jasmine – Stephanie Nala send-off; Fleur East drama
With yesterday being the latest double-elimination for “The X Factor” UK, and with us now only having 12 contestants left in the competition, we like to spend Monday reflecting a little on the contestants who were just sent home. Today, that means saying goodbye to Chloe Jasmine and Stephanie Nala. One of them felt like an inevitable departure, but with Chloe, we didn’t imagine we would be saying goodbye to her just yet.
Before we do anything else, let’s share some parting words from these two members of Cheryl Fernandez-Virsini’s team per their Twitter pages.
Chloe Jasmine – “Everyone that voted, thank you so much! This experience has enriched my life. Feel the fear and do it anyway. @StephanieNala @CherylOfficial.”
Stephanie Nala – “Babies don’t be sad I’m honestly fine.. Thank you so much for everyone voting I promise I’m okay. Thank you so so much for getting me here x.”
In the end, one way to look at this is that even though there are some still in the competition (Jake Quickenden and Stevi Ritchie) who are probably not as talented, none of these four are going to win. The only thing that is changing around is the order for the time being.
Fleur East drama – Should Simon Cowell and Mel B really be fighting over Fleur having heavy backup vocals during her performance over the weekend? This “miming” battle has been front and center for the British tabloids all weekend.
Our take on it was then. The purpose of this show is not to find the best singer, but the best entertainer. Many of the “best singers” in this competition have turned out to be nothing after the show ended. Fleur’s an entertainer, which is why we don’t mind this. Plus, we know she can sing. Simon is not hiding anything from us.
