‘Madam Secretary’ episode 6 preview: Will Elizabeth or anyone else answer ‘The Call’?

Madam Secretary -Five weeks in, “Madam Secretary” has been on a journey on CBS unlike any other. So far, we have seen Elizabeth start to come to terms with her new office, responsibilities, and also dangers that come with the job.

One of the things that we have been clamoring for in the process, though, is seeing a little more of the professional life, and in turn a little less of the personal life. Are we getting that on next week’s “The Call”? It’s still too early to say, given the promotional material released by CBS is only a fraction of what we are going to see.

We’ll go ahead and kick things off right now, though, with the official synopsis that is coming in courtesy of CBS:

“Elizabeth faces unexpected consequences when she makes a plea to the President to help with a dire situation in Western Africa.”

As for the official promo below, one other thing that you can expect to see is Elizabeth actually having to make her first speech in front of the American people. At first, things go pretty good for her, but at the same time she goes off-book and there are a variety of different stumbling blocks that come as a consequence of that.

The next stumbling block for the show? Seeing if it can get any sort of ratings bump over the coming weeks in the 18-49 demographic. It has done very well when it comes to viewers since returning to the air, but still struggled to get in these all-important people.
