‘Sleepy Hollow’ season 2, episode 5 preview: Tom Mison battles with a crow

Ichabod -Who thought that crows and ravens would only remain a source of drama on “Game of Thrones”? On Monday night’s new episode of “Sleepy Hollow,” you’re going to see a particular scene involving a bird and Ichabod Crane, which actually took far more time to film than it will appear when this particular episode actually airs.

For just an example of what actually happened behind the scenes in making this scene, just take a look at what series star Tom Mison said during a new interview right now with TVLine:

“His name was Shaft. Shaft, the crow. They just let the camera roll and for about 15 or 20 minutes — a long time — it was just me going up, holding my hand out, trying to get the crow to drop the bit of paper in my hand. Instead, he’d put it next to him, peck my hand, and pick it up again … One of the best moments, the crow wrangler — what a job description — was just out of sight, hiding behind a bookshelf. I heard him at one point go, ‘Go****n it, Shaft, you’re being an idiot!’ which is my quote of the season. It’s my favorite.”

This is the trouble you get to on just about every show when you are working with animals: Sometimes, it’s very hard to know what you are going to be up against. However, the crow is very important to the story here, as it is the source of communication between Ichabod and Kristina while the two parties are separated (yet again). This one should be very fun to watch, and we’ll have something more about it here on the site very soon.
