‘Bates Motel’ season 3 spoilers: ‘Sons of Anarchy’ alum Ryan Hurst on board
Here is what we like to call a major casting coup for the third season of “Bates Motel.”
According to a new report from TVLine, the critically-acclaimed A&E series has landed “Sons of Anarchy” alum Ryan Hurst for a multiple-episode arc as ChickHogan. Ironically, there are some similarities between this man and the beloved SAMCRO member Opie, who left the show back in season 5. (That’s all we will say, in the event that you are years behind.) Chick owns a motorbike shop, but that’s not exactly where he really makes the majority of his money. He is a tough ex-criminal, and continues to operate outside the normal bounds of the law. He runs a firearms business illegally, and does so not to far from the farm that Dylan will be working at this season.
One of the nice things about this story for “Sons of Anarchy” fans is that Hurst will actually spend a good bit of time with Kenny Johnson, who was a co-star of his on the FX drama at one point.
At this particular point in time “Bates Motel” is still fairly early in the production of its third season. There is no official premiere date, but we would say that you can expect it back on the air in March or April. Another thing to look out for? Watching Norman Bates (Freddie Highmore) become particularly more terrifying than he has been so far. given the progress of his transformation in season 2 and the reality of some of what he did.
What do you think about Hurst’s casting on the show right now, and does it make you even more excited to see what is coming up the rest of the way this season? Let us know with a comment, and to get some further TV updates via our CarterMatt Newsletter, head over here. (Photo via A&E.)
