‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’: Teresa Giudice’s husband Joe sentenced again
Life is not getting any easier anytime soon for the Giudice family from “The Real Housewives of New Jersey,” but who knows? In some twisted way, they may consider the following to be good news.
In a New Jersey courtroom today, it was determined that Joe Giudice, husband of series star Teresa Giudice, had accepted a plea deal for a state driver’s license fraud case. He will serve 18 months in state prison, but because this will run concurrently with his 41-month prison sentence for bankruptcy and wire fraud, he will not serve any additional jail time.
Still, it’s probably pretty hard to classify anything as “good news” when you are looking at spending more than three years of time in prison, and your spouse Teresa is also being sentenced to 15 months of prison that will begin in January. Joe will not start his sentence until hers is through.
The larger long-term concern for Joe may be his status as living within the United States. While in court today, the judge warned him strongly that he could be very well deported as a result of these charges. He is not a United States citizen, and this would cause him to have to live outside of the country. While there are no immediate plans to drop Teresa from the Bravo series, we wonder in the long-term if having to live elsewhere would take her away from it for good, depending of course on what happens over the next several years. When it comes to prison time, it is obviously very well possible that no party ends up serving their full sentence behind bars. Such things as overcrowding happen often.
