‘The Originals’ season 2, episode 3 preview: Esther past and present in ‘Every Mother’s Son’

While tonight’s episode of “The Originals” gave you a little more insight into the world of Kol Mikaelson in the past, next week’s new episode “Every Mother’s Son” will hopefully fill in some question marks on another important character: Esther. The woman at the center of it all will finally have a chance to have more of her story told. Not only that, but you are going to actually see Alice Evans guest-star in the role that she first made famous.

In addition to this, you’ll also see the character in the present, as Cassie is going to continue to possess her soul while she reigns terror upon New Orleans … at least for Klaus and company. Take a look at the lengthy synopsis below for further details:

“When Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Elijah (Daniel Gillies) receive a cryptic invitation to dinner from their mother Esther, who continues to inhabit the body of Harvest girl Cassie (guest star Natalie Dreyfuss), they find themselves preparing for the worst. With the help of a new witch named Lenore (guest star Sonja Sohn), Klaus, Elijah and Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) attempt to stay one step ahead of Esther, but things quickly take an unexpected turn. While Elijah finds himself reluctantly teaming up with Gia (guest star Nishi Munshi), a newly-turned vampire, Hayley is faced with an enticing proposition about her new status as a Hybrid after a startling encounter with Esther. Finally, Esther reveals a shocking secret about Klaus’ childhood and unveils her ultimate plan for her children.”

All we can say about the promo below, at least for the time being, is this: Klaus’ mommy issues are certainly clear!
