‘The Originals’ season 2 spoilers: Daniel Gillies on Nina Dobrev crossover, more

Elijah -There are few in television as busy right now as Daniel Gillies. The man is a key part of two different shows in “Saving Hope” and “The Originals,” and to go along with that, he puts in long hours on both.

Luckily, it does seem to be leading to some pretty great rewards. He is getting to do some great stuff right now as Elijah, and that continues Monday night as you start to meet a new character within his world in Gia. Will she be a love interest? While she may be close to him, don’t count on that. Speaking about this episode to TVLine, Gillies hints that this is more of a mentor-like relationship, and not something you need to be worried about if you ‘ship him and Hayley:

“There certainly isn’t a romantic dynamic happening there … I don’t want the fans jumping to that conclusion.”

As for another key story, Gillies was also kind enough to tease the upcoming big episode that will feature Nina Dobrev making a return as Tatia, the character who created a love-triangle-like scenario between him and Klaus (Joseph Morgan) so many years ago:

“I think the viewers are going to be shocked, not only by parts of Tatia’s history, but by her history with Klaus and Elijah … I absolutely adore Nina and I’ll take any chance I can to work with her.”

While we do know already some parts of the character history here, it is still fair to say that there is so much more in the way of surprises that will be revealed to us moving forward. That’s part of the joy of this crazy, twisted show.
