MTV’s ‘Awkward’ season 4, episode 15 preview: Jenna, Matty at odds over database

Throughout most of the past season, Jenna and Matty have been at odds on “Awkward,” and for quite a variety of reasons. First, it was Eva, and following that, it was what supposedly happened on New Year’s Eve. At the moment, they have a major obstacle in their way in Owen, who Jenna seems to actually have some genuine feelings for. He treats her well, and he’s certainly not a part of some database that rates women in Palos Hills.

Clearly, Matty’s involvement in a certain ratings system is going to cause some substantial problems for him and Jenna; as for Tamara, she is going to be out more for revenge than anything else. As the sneak peek video below perfectly illustrates, we are going to see Tamara desperately trying to come up with her own way to embarrass all the men at the school.

While we love the characters, we cannot really sit here with a straight face and say that we are thoroughly excited about the prospect of this story. After all, it feels like something that would be in almost any teen movie or TV show out there. Also, it looks very bad on Matty, and we feel like the show wants us to root for him over someone like Owen, unless they are really desperate to show us that all of these characters are flawed.

Hopefully, this is the sort of story that will be dead and buried soon. We’re prefer a variety of subjects that include Jenna’s future, and some of the crazy new relationships (see Lissa or Jake for examples).
