‘Survivor: San Juan del Sur’ preview: The next duel is between…

Jaclyn -While we certainly understand anyone who has a strong opinion on Exile Island, parts of it have turned out rather well on “Survivor: San Juan del Sur.” Namely, we love the concept of the duels that get one castaway sent out there. This has already given us such gems as John Rocker losing to his girlfriend, and them him completely bungling his game away by talking openly to Jeremy last week.

So who is next to battle? The photo gives it away: It’s Jon Misch and Jaclyn Schultz. This is a chance for Jaclyn to really prove to most of us viewers that she can bring something to the table. So far, her biggest achievement is somehow now getting any votes cast against while Baylor is always the backup target. The problem here is that her fiance is super-athletic guy, who also took a turn at taking on Rocker during that water challenge that happened a little earlier on in the season.

At first, the preview video at the bottom of this article (just scroll to the end of the “Survivor Live” episode) shows Jon completely dominating what we almost want to call “Feet Basketball.” However, Jaclyn catches up on him, and within the span of a minute, the two are neck and neck going into the end of the challenge. We still feel like Jon will probably win, but this is the most intense that we’ve seen one of these duels next.

There’s a little bit of intrigue here if Jaclyn does lose the challenge, and we almost wonder if it could benefit her to go to Exile. Will the producers re-hide the immunity idol? It’s technically out of play now, but the troublesome part of that is that they’d have to basically hide it in the same exact spot, since the clues for the two camps have to be the same. They can’t go and change up the location of the Hunahpu idol, since that would screw over everyone over on that beach.

We are still going to have our interview with Rocker up soon, so be on the lookout for that right now over at this link. Also, sign up if you want to get email updates from us courtesy of our CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo via CBS.)
