‘Mad Men’ season 7 spoilers: Has Elisabeth Moss also seen Peggy’s perfect end?
It’s been a long time since we’ve seen “Mad Men” season 7, and the unfortunate thing is that we are still going be waiting quite a long time. What’s the reason for that? Blame AMC and their crazy schedule / desire to make you want to wait as long as possible for some new episodes to air.
Ironically, at least one star in Elisabeth Moss already feels like she has seen her character in Peggy Olson reach a happy conclusion, and it happened when she managed to lead the pitch to Burger Chef. Where does she go from here, then? That is a good question, but speaking about this huge moment near the end of the spring, a watershed both for her and also for many women at the time, she said the following to the Huffington Post:
“In a way, there’s an argument for that being a great end for Peggy … I love the idea of making this beautiful, poetic, emotional speech about burgers. To me, that was advertising. That was what they did in that world. They took something — like baked beans, lipstick, burgers or cigarettes — that is either frowned upon or totally normal, and turned it into something beautiful. That speech is exactly what ‘Mad Men’ does best.”
It’s really hard to telegraph in many ways what a perfect ending for some of these characters could be. For Peggy, for example, all we can really hope for is that she’s happy. Given all that she has been through, she really deserves that. We’re not sure every character does, but most have not had her journey.
