‘The Amazing Race 25’ episode 3 preview: Kym & Alli have fun in England

Why can’t more “Amazing Race” teams adopt the spirit of Kym & Alli? If you were not rooting for the two before, the sneak peek below from Friday’s episode may give you a reason to.

Here’s the situation. All of the teams seem to be camping out a train station, mostly so that they can prepare to get on board to head up north a little later in the episode. However, these two decided that instead of staying there, they were going to go out and experience the culture, which led to them having a little dance outside of a local pub. Clearly, the music they were dancing to is not what the show played, mostly because of licensing or whatnot.

So is it a smart move to choose having fun over sleeping? We suppose it depends on who you are? Given that these two are #TheCyclists, we imagine that they probably have a decent amount of endurance. Some other teams may need the rest more. Plus, there’s also the reality that you could just get a few hours of sleep at the train station, and then also sleep when you are actually on the train.

Regardless of the strategy portion of it, we appreciate the spirit. How often are you going to be in these locations all around the world? Too often we see teams opt to just take it extremely seriously, and given that only one out of eleven teams win in the end, shouldn’t you try to just have fun every step of the way? If you get eliminated, you get eliminated. Having fun puts you at ease, and probably makes you less likely to make mistakes.
