‘Shark Tank’ preview: Paper Box Pilots, Reviver, Table Jacks, and a ScreenMend update

Shark Tank -There is a part of us that just wants to call the new episode of “Shark Tank” airing on Friday night the home improvement episode. Almost everything (or at least three of the products we’re discussing below) could be categorized in that; even the box stickers are an add-on to something you’d get at the Home Depot or somewhere else.

We like to start these previews off with the synopsis, so here it is below via ABC. Note that the Sharks Friday include everyone other than Daymond John, who will probably be around for more products in his wheelhouse later this season:

“Pitches include a mother and son from Grand Rapids, MI whose business can give every bride a gorgeous wedding cake but for a slice of the price; a restaurateur from Houston, TX has a solution to a common problem encountered while dining out; and two brothers from Los Angeles, CA and Dallas, TX pitch a unique way for clothes to smell fresh all the time. With his father and younger brother by his side, a 13-year-old boy from Highland, UT was inspired to turn an ordinary cardboard box into the vehicle of your imagination. In a follow-up segment, sisters Lily and Emma Hooks and their father, Brian, from Bayport, NY, give an update on Screenmend, a screen repair fix-it kit which Lori invested in during Season 5.”

Here are the three products that we’d like to highlight for now.

Paper Box Pilots – We see the novelty in the product. Kids love playing with cardboard boxes, so why not make a product that by and large revolves all around putting stickers on boxes to aid the imagination? The hard sell we see here is that for our memory as a kid, our time using a box as a plaything stemmed from spontaneity and imagination. We don’t know if you can ever prepare for this.

Reviver – A way to refresh your clothes on the go, and give them a clean smell even without taking anything to the dry cleaners. The price point is low, and we could actually see the appeal here for people on the go. If the asking price is right and we were an investor, we’d be intrigued by this one.

Table Jacks – This is a tough one to gauge. It’s a table stabilizer to get rid of that annoying wobbly table problem. Maybe restaurants could use this if the price is right, but it’s a very specific market you are catering here, and it has to be cheap enough to keep people from saving up just to buy a new table instead.
