‘Dancing with the Stars’ 19 spoilers: New dance partners for Janel Parrish, Sadie Robertson, cast

Janel Parrish -Next week, “Dancing with the Stars” is going in a different direction with many of their pairs courtesy of the Switch-Up. We don’t love the idea of forcing contestants to pair up with different people midseason, mostly because it takes away to a certain extent from the relationships that are already there.

Luckily, there is at least one cool thing about the twist right now: The stars will be forced to perform dances that they have not done in the competition, and some of them are relatively rare for the show as a whole.

Here are the pairings that have been revealed for the upcoming week, coupled with some of the dance styles they will be asked to perform. (Trust us, some of these are going to be wacky.)

  • Alfonso Ribeiro and Cheryl Burke will dance the flamenco.
  • Tommy Chong and Emma Slater will dance the mambo.
  • Michael Waltrip and Witney Carson will disco, which sounds to us absolutely hilarious.
  • Jonathan Bennett and Peta Murgatroyd will do the jitterbug.
  • Lea Thompson and Val Chmerkovskiy will do Broadway.
  • Antonio Sabato Jr. and Allison Holker will do Bollywood.
  • Janel Parrish and Artem Chigvintsev will do burlesque, which seems somewhat odd given that this is a family show.
  • Sadie Robertson and Derek Hough will do the Charleston.
  • Bethany Mota and Mark Ballas will do hip-hop.

Of the group, it feels like Sadie and Bethany got off pretty easy in that they both get to work with the best friend of their previous pro. Meanwhile, we feel for Witney after getting to dance with Alfonso. These pairings are only for this week.
