‘The Bachelor’ spoilers: Why all the Chris Soules secrecy?

We are now many days into filming the new season of “The Bachelor” with Chris Soules, but not that you would necessarily know it judging from Twitter. Remember the days when there would be some more scoop on what was going on during filming? That has been almost nonexistent this time around so far. The farmer’s journey to true happiness has been under a heavy veil of secrecy.

What’s the biggest benefit to doing this? Obviously, it is a hope to surprise people when the show is airing. Unfortunately, the problem with that is that most things end up getting spoiled, anyway. We’re not a big spoiler fan, but you have to acknowledge at this point that they are out there, and it’s hard to do anything about it. Our biggest problem is that these spoilers cannot contain themselves, and many end up finding out about them even if they don’t want to. It’s part of the media’s desperation sometimes to get attention in the now, rather than await things that could happen later.

With all of this in mind, we wouldn’t mind if “The Bachelor” did let you behind the curtain a little bit during the production, not with spoilers, but maybe with some fun little location teases, or updates on how Chris may be holding up during the journey. What’s the worst that could happen? Emily Maynard’s season was probably the one we had the most in-season scoop on, and that didn’t ruin the production of the show at all. As a matter of fact, it gave us something further to look forward to. In this age of instant-gratification, you want to do what you can to please your audience around the clock.
