‘The X Factor’ UK: Why did Blonde Electric suddenly change name to Blonde Electra?

Blonde Electra -As if the idea of having Blonde Electric on the “X Factor” UK live shows this weekend was not shocking enough (pun intended), there is now also one other thing to consider: They have a new name to go along with it.

Basically, Blonde Electric is now Blonde Electra, which to us makes us feel like they are trying to be blonde versions of that Marvel comic character who tried to branch out after that awful “Daredevil” movie starring Ben Affleck.

Apparently, that may not be that far off. In a new interview on “This Morning” where all of Louis Walsh’s groups were shown off properly, the duo said that they want the name to be more empowering, and to highlight independent women. Does it make a whole lot of sense to us now? Not really, but we figure that this group never well.

There is a certain curiosity surrounding what these two are going to do during the live shows, but after watching the entire journey getting there, it may be awkward. There is a certain amount of self-awareness at this point that neither one of these two is a particularly good singer, and that there were better groups musically who went home over them. The biggest reason why they are still here, at least for now, is because someone out there believes in them, and that someone is Louis. If nothing else, hopefully they’ll be so out-there that they give everyone something to talk about.
