‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 16, episode 4 preview: ‘Holden’s Manifesto’ trouble for Mariska Hargitay’s Benson
Tonight, “Law & Order: SVU” aired an episode that was certainly at times disturbing. We had the story of a troubled young actress, and some of the problems that she had gone through over the years.
So how do you move forward from that? Seemingly, it is by going in a very different direction with an episode entitled “Holden’s Manifesto.” We’ve reported recently that this is the episode that will feature some difficult for Benson (Mariska Hargitay), as she tries to handle questions about whether she can balance motherhood and her job.
However, the story goes deeper than that, as the case itself revolves around a bike messenger who does some unspeakable things after making his sort of premonitions about them in a video blog. Take a look at the official synopsis for the hour below:
“New York City bike messenger Holden March (guest star John Karna) creates a video diary of his troubles with women. Talk soon escalates to action, and the SVU scrambles to find his manifesto before he commits another violent act. When Rollins (Kelli Giddish) and Amaro (Danny Pino) come face to face with Holden, they find out just how dangerous a desperate man can be. Meanwhile, as Benson (Mariska Hargitay) balances the responsibilities of motherhood and career, the new Deputy Chief of SVU (guest star Peter Gallagher) calls her leadership into question.”
This may be one of the more chilling cases to date, but we’re glad that more of Benson’s home life will be included. Plus, cheers for seeing Peter Gallagher on the show! He’s been great in so many things over the years, and we have confidence this will be the same thing.

I hope somebody has Det. Rollin’s(Kelli Giddish) back, because the preview for next week looks awful troublesome. It would be nice to see something that NBC is negotiating to re-sign everybody on SVU to new deals, but I know I’m asking a lot of NBC. Be careful Det. Rollins, there’s a real not job coming up this Wednesday.
