‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 6 spoilers: Michael Malarkey on Enzo’s intentions

For Enzo fans, tomorrow night’s new episode of “The Vampire Diaries” could be a big one. Even though the actor was not in the show’s season premiere, he is going to have a big role in the story the rest of the way. The fact that Michael Malarkey is a series regular now should serve as some proof of that.

So what are the motivations for Enzo now? While you may think that his troublesome relationship Damon last season may mean that he wants to leave his old friend behind, that is not entirely the case. Rather, Malarkey tells TVLine that he is very much interested in seeing whether or not he can bring Ian Somerhalder’s character back from the dead:

“He’s his same mischievous, slightly conniving self, but he’s also one of the only ones actively trying to figure out what happened to Damon and to see if he can get him back.”

We suppose that there is a pretty generous dose of irony that Enzo is working hard to revive Damon, while at the same time the guy’s own brother in Stefan has seemingly detached himself from the situation, and is off canoodling somewhere rather than dealing with whatever he is feeling over it.

Somehow, Enzo’s actions this season may also mean recruiting some other characters for his cause, as well, whether you are referring to Caroline or a few other faces here and there. Hopefully, Thursday’s episode (entitled “Yellow Ledbetter”) will not only give us a greater sense of the character’s plan, but also whether or not Damon knows where he is yet, and how he can escape.
